Multi-Award winning hip-hop act Cal_Vin has finally came open to his addiction of Alcohol and how the drug has almost ended his hustle built over time of hard-work and dedication.

A few weeks ago we saw the act scooping the Outstanding Male Artist Of The Year at the Roil Bulawayo Arts Awards which took place on the 29th of June in Bulawayo ZITF Hall. However ,the artist feels like he was robbed of “The Song Of The Year Award” for his hit song “Banjalo Abantu”.

“Alcohol, I now know dat it’s you who is ruining my life, my career, my relationships, you have kept me broke, I’m done with regrets, fights and just negative vibes you come with. Funny You gave me wings to fly but sadly you took the sky away, so today I really feel its time we part ways…” this was captured from his time-line following his recent tweets. The mogul further on went to mention how he has lost four expensive pairs of his eye glasses because of his addiction. How he got into unnecessary fights or just bad behavior conduct in places where he could have been making money in or in front of people who could have helped him grow and push his career.

The hip-hop acts enlightens how peer pressure is a cause of concern,” All my peers encourage me to drink but this particular people set me down and told me how I was slowly heading towards self destruction and I really had to quit..” The artist has gave a word for u-Bulawayo and the culture that he’s done with alcohol for real and promises to channel his energy and finances towards his career as this toxic drug has almost taken away everything from him.

Cal_Vin is not the only Bulawayo artist who has been a victim but we have seen generations of young talent getting wasted because of this toxic drug, some artists even failing to perform on stage and have lost favor from their followers.

Thanks to the artist for coming out – now is the time for u-Bulawayo to stand together against drug and substance abuse.
